News

ANCHOR AND REPORTER: Candidate must have proven and consistent experience as an Anchor and Reporter. Responsibilities include oversight of newscasts, producing, writing and performing scripts, stories and interviews for broadcast and online. Candidate must enterprise news stories and segments, and be versatile as a writer, storyteller and broadcaster on the anchor desk, online and in the field.  Candidate must have strong editorial knowledge and the ability to produce and perform that information on all platforms.  

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or Communications required. Three (3) to five (5) years television news experience in a medium to major market with proven anchoring and reporting abilities. Ideal candidate must be a Newsroom leader who has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Solid news judgment, strong writing skills and live studio/field performance skills are required. ASSOCIATE PRODUCER: Responsibilities include writing stories and teases, editing video and creating graphics and supers for FOX4News.com, social channels and associated news partners.  The position works closely with Producers to help develop and format newscasts and communicates continuously with Reporters, Photographers, the Assignment Desk, Managers and other applicable employees or outside sources regarding story developments and changes.  Must possess the ability to write stories and post video for social media platforms in coordination with Producers and Managers. Facilitate communication during newscasts regarding live shots and story development.  Associate Producers must have the ability to overcome anticipated and unexpected changes when putting together newscasts.

NEWS EDITOR: News Video Editor must edit video, sound, and other visual elements for newscasts, including reporter packages, newscast elements, special projects, and other projects as assigned.  Must have strong understanding of the script and editorial process and the responsibilities of the position. Must be proficient in the operation of digital non-linear editing equipment. Must be proficient in using other digital newsroom tools, including ingesting and transcoding visual elements for use in edited material. Must be able to produce graphics and other visual elements for newscasts.  Must maintain video archives and monitor, maintain, and organize content in digital content system. Ability to create and post material to digital and social media platforms is a plus. Must be familiar with other aspects of newscast production.  Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma required.  College degree preferred.  Three (3) - Five (5) years’ experience in a medium to major market newsroom required.  Must be able to work in a team environment and thrive under a deadline driven system.  Good interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on communication with Producers, Directors, Managers and other members of News and Engineering is required. ASSIGNMENT EDITOR: Regular, Full-time: Must be aggressive and thorough in responding to breaking news.  Research and select news stories through multiple sources including, news wires, websites, social media, newspapers, scanners and email.  Responsible for daily communication with police and government officials and agencies.  Must develop reliable sources to help in obtaining and confirming information for newscasts. Secure and organize elements for newscasts such as electronic audio and video files, photos and documents.  Must have broad working knowledge of online databases as well as broad working knowledge of court and police procedures. Write and publish stories for station website. Must consistently publish to social media channels. Coordinate, dispatch and communicate with crews to planned and breaking news events. Work closely with reporters, producers and managers to develop stories and story ideas.  Answer viewer calls and emails and speak with community contacts.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Communication and/or Journalism. 7-8 years in a medium to major market experience required.  Must possess strong phone skills and etiquette. Must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media.  Ability to work under tight deadlines. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. SPECIAL PROJECTS PRODUCER: Regular, Full-time: The Special Projects Producer is responsible for researching, creating and coordinating live and taped interviews, segments and stories for KDFW-FOX4, FOX4news.com, digital channels, and FOX O&O stations. Must have strong research, investigative and database skillsets. Must be experienced in mining and posting social media material. This Producer will develop and plan content in conjunction with News Producers, Reporters and Supervisors.  Contact and schedule interviews.  Write and produce stories, create and contribute digital content, edit video, and produce graphics. Produce newscasts and perform other duties as assigned.

Four (4) year college degree in Communication or Journalism required.  Three (3) to Four (4) years’ experience as a Special Projects or Newscast Producer in a medium to major market required. Must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media.  Ability to work under tight deadlines.  Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news required, including digital and web based newsgathering tools. SEGMENT PRODUCER/PRODUCER: Responsible for producing all elements of a live newscast -- including Reporter stories/assignments, Anchor performance, segments, breaking news, teases, and breakouts. Strong writing and show production skills are required. Must be experienced in mining and using social media information.  Must be adept at planning and executing stories and segments that are topical, relevant and engaging. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.

Must have strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events, and excellent communication and people skills. Must handle pressure well including the ability to manage breaking news.  Knowledge of newsroom computer systems required. SPORTS CO-HOST AND PRODUCER: The Co-Host/Producer is responsible for creating, producing and co-hosting segments/stories, booking guests and phoners for a live interactive nightly sports show. Stories, interviews and segments must go beyond highlights and locker room soundbites for unique topics, talkers and personalities. Must possess proven sports knowledge with a strong and collaborative presentation style. The Co-Host must display knowledge, personality and passion on varied subjects. The position requires the ability to mine and post content to FOX 4's social media channels and website and TV. Strong online engagement with sports contacts, stakeholders and fans. Must be able to use newsroom computer systems.

Bachelor's degree plus 5-7 years’ experience in broadcasting. Must be an experienced and strong communicator on air and online.  Must have experience in live interviewing, storytelling and producing. Must be able to work on multiple platforms. SUPERVISING PRODUCER: The Supervising Producer is responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of newscasts, breaking news coverage, online content and other assigned projects for FOX 4 and its digital and social channels.  Must work with the Executive Producer, Producers, Reporters, Anchors, Associate Producers and Assignment Editors to plan, coach, write and produce content for newscasts, website and social media.  Must work with Production and Engineering to plan and execute newscasts - including remotes, segments and productions. Approve and copy edit scripts, teases and graphics.  Provide guidance for Reporters for story ideas and story development.  Must work closely with the Executive Producer in the day to day operation of the News department. Fill in producing newscasts when necessary.  Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communication required. At least eight (8) years in a top TV market experience required. Prior managerial/supervisory experience a must.  Must have knowledge and proficiency in newsroom systems.  Must have experience and strong skill set in social media. Engineering

BROADCAST MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: (Full-Time, Reg.):  Perform preventative maintenance on master control, studio and production equipment. Prefer candidate with knowledge of on-air operations to include master control, technical operations center, ENG and SNG operation.  Successful candidate will have knowledge in the repair of studio equipment to include cameras, robotics, automation systems, a/v routing as well as networked media and file-based workflows. Successful candidate should also have a working knowledge of RF systems to include transmitters, receivers and microwave equipment.   

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two (2) years' technical school in electronics or equivalent desired.  Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in broadcast maintenance in medium or large television market is required. Position requires handling of multiple demands with professionalism and results and must be able to possess strong communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and work in a cohesive team environment is a must. ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN: Performs the duties of television technician, including handling the operations of television equipment, audio boards, and station automation operations. Performs quality assurance on commercial and program material. Also performs on-air operations for the Production Control rooms/Studios, works with directors in the operation of robotic cameras (including shading) and the coding of ELC or equivalent system. The candidate must have the ability to handle multiple technical responsibilities and changes in a fast-paced newscast.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two (2) or more years’ experience as a television technician in a medium or large television market. Position requires handling of multiple demands with professionalism and results and must be able to possess strong communication skills. STAGE MANAGER: This position is responsible for coordinating all activities in the studios and production areas, including cueing and prompting the on-air talent during newscasts.  Responsibilities also include the oversight of staging, lighting and the general appearance of the studios and operation of the teleprompter system.  The Stage Manager must insure proper microphone placement and check all audio equipment on a daily basis for proper operation.

Sales

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE: The successful Account Executive (AE) must be able to identify qualified targets, use strong communication and presentation skills throughout the sales process and maintain a high closing ratio.  We are looking for someone that can bring together all our resources (Top Rated Local News, FOX Network, FOX Sports, My Network TV, Digital Sponsorships and Promotions) in a creative manner to achieve a high level of results.  Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, strategically negotiating existing business along with obtaining incremental dollars from the existing market and building strong client relationships.  Responsible for completing administrative tasks such as weekly forecasts, monthly reports, new business trackers, weekly meeting forms and the credit and collection of all accounts.

Ideal candidate must possess a proven track record of success in sales.  A four-year college degree is required.  Media sales experience is strongly preferred.  Knowledge of media math, TV ratings and web metrics is a plus.  Candidate must be a self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills.  We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive, creative and passionate to succeed in the highly competitive environment of media sales.  Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking are critical to the position.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required and knowledge of media-related software and research tools is a plus.  Click here to apply.

NATIONAL SALES ASSISTANT: The National Sales Assistant assists the National Sales Manager.  The National Sales Assistant is responsible for the day to day tasks involved with the national order activity process.  These tasks include but are not limited to order entry, contract maintenance, contract reconciliation and the posting of contracts. The National Sales Assistant will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of both the Order Connect system and Wide Orbit paperwork, as well as the filing of national contracts.  The National Sales Assistant will be in constant communication with the National Sales Manager, the national rep firm, the Traffic Department and agencies / advertisers.    

The National Sales Assistant must have good communication skills.  They must demonstrate the ability to prioritize, multi-task and perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.  The National Sales Assistant must be computer proficient and will be required to learn industry specific software and create sales presentations.    Broadcast sales assistant experience preferred.  College degree with emphasis in Advertising, Marketing or Business preferred.  Strong Microsoft Office skills required, including Excel.  Must be highly organized and detail oriented.  Strong mathematical skills required.  Click here to apply.

Programming

Director Programming & Research: The Director of Programming & Research is responsible for creating and maintaining program schedules and the presentation and interpretation of ratings data for KDFW/KDFI that will produce maximum sales results.  The Director will participate in programming pitch meetings and stay up to date with competitive programming changes and events.  The Director will be responsible for the local oversight of all FCC compliance issues.  The Director must be proficient in understanding and analyzing Nielsen and Scarborough data and must possess the ability to present stations' ratings to produce maximum sales results.

Four (4) year college degree required with an emphasis in Marketing, Business, Advertising preferred.  Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in major television market research and programming. Must have excellent oral and written communication.  Must possess strong organizational and presentation skills. Must be knowledgeable of the market, business and industry news and trends.  Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and WideOrbit.  Must possess a strong interest and curiosity in the media business, specifically broadcast and digital.  Must have strong leadership skills and be a team player.  Click here to apply.

Traffic

COPY COORDINATOR: The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that advertiser schedules air with correct commercial material. Compile listing of schedules that need copy material attached for the logs. Gather and organize materials provided by advertising agencies in order to properly schedule commercial rotations. Input commercial rotations into computer system. Check, verify and file all input schedules. Backup fellow Copy Coordinators. Backup Traffic Managers by completing daily logs. Maintain commercial inventory file. Must be experienced in working in a fast paced work environment. Must be able to effectively communicate with sales management, sales personnel, and other station personnel as required. Must be able to effectively communicate with advertising agency personnel to ensure that materials are received in a timely manner. Attention to detail is critical for effective completion of daily tasks.

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Broadcast Traffic preferred. Candidate must have excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills as well as excellent math skills. Must have Industry knowledge and be able to work in a team environment.
