International Women’s Day is on March 8 and Barbie has released new set of dolls to honor historical and current female role models from around the world.

The fashion doll company has created a new doll line called Inspiring Women. The first three women in this series are Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, artist Frida Kahlo and NASA research mathematician Katherine Johnson.

Barbie is also honoring 14 other women “who have broken boundaries in their fields and have been an inspiration to the next generation of girls” with dolls in their likeness through its Shero program.

Director Patty Jenkins, Olympic snowboarding gold medalist Chloe Kim, wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin, British boxing champion Nicola Adams, Turkish windsurfer Çağla Kubat, French chef Hélène Darroze, Chinese volleyball champion Hui Ruoqi, German fashion designer Leyla Piedayesh, professional golfer Lorena Ochoa, Polish journalist Martyna Wojciechowska, Italian soccer player Sara Gama, Chinese actress Xiaotong Guan, Chinese ballerina Yuan Tan and Spanish fashion designer Vicky Martin Berrocal.

In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, we are committed to shining a light on empowering female role models past and present in an effort to inspire more girls.

"As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women's Day because we know that you can't be what you can't see," said Barbie senior vice president and general manager Lisa McKnight. "Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real life role models to remind them that they can be anything."
